Occupancy Planning focuses on:

• identifying all occupancy milestones - the physical relocation issues as well as the operational issues that need to be addressed,
• creating a planning infrastructure that will work through these milestones,
• developing a move sequence,
• compiling a manual of detailed move plans for every hospital department,
• creating an orientation program to ensure that staff will be completely familiar with the new site, services and patient care systems on Day One in the new facility,
• creating a comprehensive patient move handbook that covers every detail related to moving patients safely.
