Challenge: FDI was responsible for procuring more than 20,000 items using the County-Wide Acquisition System for the largest capital project in Los Angeles County’s history. Result: Trained as county employees, FDI staff seamlessly functioned as adjunct personnel to the hospital materials management staff. This allowed the county to only apply the resources needed for this project and avoid furloughing employees upon completion. |

Challenge: Project had a compressed schedule for procuring specified equipment, posing a challenge to the hospital opening. Result: Equipment was successfully procured on time, despite the compressed timeframe, and the hospital opened on schedule. |

Challenge: Necessity of working with multiple funding sources to achieve the overall procurement. Result: This flexibility allowed the hospital to procure equipment against many funding sources, maximizing the amount of new equipment it could purchase. |
BryanLGH Medical Center |

Challenge: Required to procure equipment on a phased construction schedule. Multi-phased project included a cardiac imaging department, cath lab, EP lab, ED and surgery expansion and an additional 200 beds. Result: Provided ongoing procurement support over many years, allowing the hospital to remodel and move into one area at a time. |

Challenge: Project required integration of equipment for reuse into the plan while maximizing the budget to buy as much new equipment as possible. Result: FDI helped evaluate and reuse as much existing equipment as possible, allowing for reallocation of budget dollars to new equipment. |
